Press Release: Pipe Sensor

Pipe Sensor Photo

The hottest news in heating and ventilation is the new clip-on device for central heating boilers that's taking the industry by storm. The sensor measures the water temperature without being in contact with the water. It attaches to the pipe and feeds back information to the electrical control system to help improve efficiency. This novel design offers fast time response of less than 1.5 seconds and a temperature gradient of less than 1 degree Celsius at 60 degrees Celsius.

"The introduction of this clip-on thermistor represents a significant advance in the measuring of water temperature and has created a great deal of interest in the industry".

"It is currently being trialed and evaluated by more than a dozen major players around the world," says Dave Hutcherson, Technical Product Manager. He explains, "This new sensor is much easier and simpler to use. The traditional immersion probe, which has to be screwed in, is not always reliable and can cause leak problems. We're confident this new product will become industry standard within the next few years."

The thermistor is highly accurate and simple to fit with clips which self adjust to standard pipes ranging from 12 - 22mm in diameter.
